1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Pulse Social Windows desktop application and the official website at pulsesocialapp.uk. Craig Dawson is the data controller for personal information processed directly in operating Pulse Social.

Connected services such as TikTok, Google/YouTube and Meta also process information under their own privacy policies. The user controls which services they connect and which destinations receive a post.

2. Information Pulse Social may handle

Website information

This informational website does not provide user accounts, advertising or a contact form. Pulse Social does not intentionally set analytics or advertising cookies. The hosting provider may process standard technical logs, such as an IP address, browser type, requested page, timestamp and security events, to deliver and protect the website.

Connected-account information

When a user connects a platform, Pulse Social may handle an account or channel identifier, display name, username, profile image, page details and access authorisation returned by that platform.

Publishing and community information

The application handles the videos, titles, captions, settings, selected destinations and schedule times chosen by the user. Where supported and requested, it may also retrieve recent posts, audience totals, performance figures, comments and direct-message conversations.

Optional AI information

If a user enables an AI provider, the text, transcript, comment, conversation context or performance summary needed for the requested feature is sent to the provider selected by the user. AI output is shown for review and is not posted automatically.

Support correspondence

If someone contacts support by email, Pulse Social receives the sender's contact details and the information included in that message. Users should never send passwords, access tokens or API secrets by email.

3. How information is used

  • to connect the accounts authorised by the user;
  • to prepare, publish, schedule, edit or cancel posts requested by the user;
  • to display supported community and performance information;
  • to provide optional writing, transcription and analysis features;
  • to respond to support and privacy enquiries; and
  • to protect the website and application, diagnose problems and comply with legal obligations.

Pulse Social does not sell personal information and does not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Legal bases

Depending on the activity, information is processed because it is necessary to provide a feature requested by the user or take steps at their request; because there is a legitimate interest in operating, securing and improving Pulse Social; because the user has chosen to enable an optional integration; or because processing is necessary to meet a legal obligation.

Where processing relies on consent, consent may be withdrawn by disabling the relevant feature or disconnecting the service. Withdrawal does not affect processing that took place beforehand.

5. Where information is stored

Pulse Social is local-first. Draft content, preferences, media references and connection information are stored on the computer running the application. Supported secrets and platform tokens are protected using the operating system's credential-protection facilities when available.

The original video remains in its existing location. Removing a video from the Pulse Social library removes its reference from the application and does not delete the original file.

Scheduled TikTok or Instagram publishing may use a relay configured for Pulse Social. When that option is used, the relay temporarily stores the media and scheduling instructions needed to complete the requested post.

6. Who receives information

Information is shared only as needed for a feature the user chooses. Recipients may include:

  • TikTok, Google/YouTube, Instagram and Facebook when connecting an account, retrieving authorised information or publishing;
  • Groq or OpenAI when the user enables that provider and requests an AI feature;
  • the configured scheduling or media relay when a relay-backed publishing feature is used;
  • website and infrastructure providers that deliver and secure the service; and
  • professional advisers, authorities or other parties where required by law.

These providers may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom. Their own terms, privacy notices and legally recognised transfer safeguards apply to their processing.

7. Retention and deletion

Local application information remains until the user removes it, disconnects an account, clears the application's data or uninstalls the application. Connection tokens remain until they expire, are disconnected or are revoked through the relevant platform.

Relay-hosted media is retained only as needed to complete or manage the scheduled job and associated cleanup. Information already published is retained by the destination platform according to the user's account choices and that platform's policies.

Support emails are retained only while reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain necessary records and deal with follow-up, normally for no longer than 24 months unless a longer period is legally required.

8. Security

Pulse Social uses measures intended to protect information, including an isolated desktop interface, protected local secret storage where supported, OAuth security controls and limited disclosure to the services needed for each requested action. No system can guarantee absolute security, so users should also secure their computer and connected accounts.

9. Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may provide rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and to withdraw consent where consent is used. To make a request, email craig.dawson@theencoregamer.com. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed.

Users can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Information about doing so is available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

10. Children

Pulse Social is intended for adult creators and is not directed to children. It is not knowingly used to collect personal information from children through this website.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when Pulse Social's features, providers or legal obligations change. The revised version will be posted here with a new “Last updated” date.
